Paul L. Strothmann, 57, of Philo passed away at 10:05 A.M. on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at his residence. He was disabled after suffering a severe stroke in March, 2008. After extensive therapy he was able to lead a fairly normal life. After she went to the nursing home, Paul visited his mother there almost every day and became a great friend to the residents and staff.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, January 30, 2015 at First Presbyterian Church, 602 W. Green St., Urbana. A visitation will be held from 4-6 P.M on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana. Burial will take place at Locust Grove Cemetery in Philo.

Paul was born in Fort Collins, Colorado on November 6, 1957 to parents Maynard and Willa (Sigler) Strothmann. Maynard passed away in 1999, Willa survives. Also surviving is his brother, Mark Strothmann of Brentwood, Missouri.

Paul grew up on college campuses as a son of a Presbyterian campus minister. He went to school in Lawrence, Kansas; Hanover, Indiana and graduated from Carterville (Illinois) High School. After high school he took classes at John A. Logan College. He worked as an Inventory Auditor with RGIS for 25 years.

Paul was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Urbana, where he was an ordained elder and deacon. He enjoyed traveling, music, drama and discussing politics with his family.
