Paul Edward Herndon, 68, of Potomac, died 2:48 a.m., Sunday, December 12, 2010 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Services are private. Renner-Wikoff Chapel & Crematory 1900 S. Philo Rd. Urbana is handling the arrangements.

Paul E. Herndon was born May 9, 1942 in Enid, OK a son of Edward Herndon and Opal Cox Gibson. He married Martha Ulrich June 15, 1977 in Rantoul. She survives.

Two brothers, Donald W. Herndon and Jack L. Gibson; and two grandchildren, Jaycen Robert Herndon and Rae Ann Herndon; and close friend Mary Fischer survive him.

His son, Robert Paul Herndon, preceded him in death.

Mr. Herndon served in the United States Air Force for 22 years. After retiring from the Air Force he went to work for Rantoul Products.
