Paul Edwin Felkner Sr. 83 of Thomasboro died at 12:35 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at the Country Health Nursing Home, Gifford.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2012 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana; Rev. Mike Smith Officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Felkner was born on July 17, 1928 in Arcola, the son of Thomas and Vivian Waters Felkner. He married Dorothy Faye Hendricks on May 12, 1945 in the Rev. Van Doran Parsonage; she died on June 2, 2010.

Survivors include two sons; Paul (Marcia) Felkner Jr. of Champaign, Ronnie (Susan) Felkner of St. Joseph, six daughters; Rosemary (Floyd) Fisher of Champaign, Linda (Jim) Slaughter of Ellenton, Florida, Patty (Jim) Harris of Gibson City, Conne (Dave) Symmonds of Crystal Falls, Michigan, Lois (Doug) Resky of Urbana and Donna (Warren) Grob of Thomasboro, one brother; Robert Felkner of West Monroe, Louisiana, three sisters; Lois Froman, Mary Domshott and Joan Baker all of Jackson, Michigan, twenty four grandchildren, fifty four great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by seven brothers, two sisters, three grandsons, one granddaughter and one great granddaughter.

Mr. Felkner was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WW II and retired from Meadow Gold in Champaign.

He was a member of the Urbana Sportsman Club and enjoyed fishing, campaign, Illini sports; auto racing (Jeff Gordon) was his favorite driver and an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
