Frances "Patricia" Binkerd, 103, of Urbana died on Friday (May 12, 2017) at the Heartland Nursing Home in Champaign. There will be no services. Renner-Wikoff Chapel & Crematory will be handling Mrs. Binkerd's cremation.

Mrs. Binkerd was born June 23, 1913 in Memphis, TN, the daughter of Jason and Genevieve (Morrison) Walker. She was their only child. She married Gordon Ware Binkerd, an American composer, September 11, 1942 in St. Louis, MO. He died September 5, 2003. They did not have children. Their home of 60 years, 5 acres known as "Binkerd Grove," has been given to the Urbana Park District.

Special thanks to the 2nd floor nurses and CNAs for the loving care they provided to Mrs. Binkerd during her time at the Heartland Nursing Home. She had no immediate survivors, but many special friends including Debbie Black, Debbie Hart, Pamela Garrison, Jean Saladino and David Saladino.
