Opal L. "Lou" Diener, 91, of Thomasboro passed away peacefully at home, 7:20 A.M. on September 21, 2014.

Mrs. Diener was born February 11, 1923 in Champaign, a daughter of Arvey H. and Ola Myrtle Farmer Kelley. She married Warren R. "Bob" Diener on May 25, 1952 at University Place Christian Church in Champaign. He died in 1993.

Lou is survived by her two sons, Karl (Mary) Diener of Clinton and Kelly Diener of Thomasboro; her sister, Catherine Ogdon; two grandchildren and a great- grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, and sister, Doris Barcelles.

Lou was a graduate of Champaign Junior High School. She worked as a telephone operator and cashier at the Western Union office in Champaign for twenty-five years. She also worked as a bank clerk at the First National Bank of Thomasboro.

She enjoyed Big Band music, dancing and bowling. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal's fan. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and her many friends and neighbors.

Burial will be held at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign.
