Norman Glen Spencer Sr. 79 of Champaign died at 7:36 a.m. Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the Helia Healthcare Center, Champaign.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 12, 2015 at the Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana, with Major Tom McDowell officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Spencer was born on September 13, 1936 in Sadorus, the son of John Riley and Clara Mae Cochran Spencer. He married Doreen Kay Warren Spencer on September 15, 1957 in Champaign, she survives. Also surviving are one daughter; Debrah (Ralph) Engstrom of Villa Grove, one son; Norman "Skip" (Kim) Spencer Jr. of Sadorus, five grandchildren; Lindsay and Kelsey Engstrom, Stacy Dudzinski, Jake and Dani Spencer and three great grandchildren; Lily Dudzinski, Braydon Day and Levi Harden.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Mr. Spencer retired from the Iron Workers Local #380.

He worked for the Salvation Army for nine years.
