Norman T. McFarland, 76, of Champaign died at 1:23 P.M., Mon, Dec. 25, 2006 at the Carle Foundation Hospital, U.

There will be no public services, Renner-Wikoff Chapel; U. is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. McFarland was born on Jan. 31, 1930 in Rockford, IL, the son of Charles P. and Anna Norman McFarland, he married Lydia Flamm in 1957 in Aurora, IL, she survives.

Also surviving are one son; Vance McFarland of Salt Lake City, Utah, a daughter; Liann McFarland of Chicago, IL and two grandsons; Ryan and Miles McFarland.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. McFarland was a Professor Emeritus of Industrial Design at the U of I. He enjoyed traveling.
