Obituary

Norma Jeanne Woolen 93 of Champaign died at 9:17 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2017 at home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at the Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Jeanne was born on November 9, 1923 in Champaign, the daughter of George Pearl and Essie Belle McManus Stephens. She married Hubert Dean Woolen on January 25, 1946 in Washington, D.C., he survives. Also surviving are four daughters; Linda (Rich) Johnson of Princeton, Cheri (Tom) Garcier of Monticello, Becky (Will) Marshall of Oswego and Robin Burch of Champaign, nine grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

She was preceded in death by one son; Danny Dean, three sisters and two brothers.

Jeanne graduated from Lincoln Grade School, Champaign Jr. High and Central High School.

She retired from the University of Illinois Library as a clerk-typist.

Jeanne was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Champaign, life member of the VFW Auxiliary 5520, Eagles Auxiliary 3075, home extension and a former member of the A.B.W.A. She was an avid volunteer.
