Obituary

Norma Jean Spangler, 64, of Champaign, passed away at 8:29 P.M. on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

A visitation will be held on Monday, January 12, 2015 from 1:00 P.M.- 2:00 P.M. at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana. A graveside service will be held after the visitation at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Mayview. Darren Plattner will officiate.

Norma was born in Taylorville, Illinois on August 29, 1950 to parents Emmet and Marie (England) Spangler. They preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was her brother-in-law, Michael Ainslie.

Norma is survived by her sister Linda Ainslie of Morganfield, Kentucky, her brother, David (Rebecca) Spangler of Tolono, Illinois and many extended family members.

She graduated from Urbana High School. Norma was a Vietnam Veteran serving with the United States Army. She worked as a Medical Records Clerk for over 10 years.

She loved gardening, knitting, crafts and spending time with her little cousins. Norma made many memories with her close friends, the Plattner's. They became like a 2nd family to her.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors in honor of Norma.
