Norma Jean Krone passed away Thursday, December 03, 2009 at Baylor Medical Center in Carrollton, TX. She was 78 years old. Jean was born in Arcola, Illinois November 13, 1931 to Harry H. and Maude E. Harshbarger. She attended Arcola schools and the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana receiving a B.S. degree in Education (1954) and M.S. degree in Deaf Education (1968). Jean married Henry Virgil Krone on November 22, 1953. They had four children. They made their home in Urbana, Illinois. She taught commercial subjects at Mahomet High School, then business subjects at Illinois Commercial College in Champaign before receiving her M.S. degree. After receiving her M.S degree, she spent the remainder of her career as a teacher of the Deaf in the Champaign school system. She was a member of University Place Christian Church in Champaign.

They moved to Lewisville, Texas in 2008 to be near their son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, three children, Carolyn Sue Krone of Richardson, Texas, David Alan Krone and wife Sherry of Cape Coral, Florida, Kevin Michael Krone and wife Rebekah of Coppell, Texas, one grandson Carson Henry Krone and one step-grandson Hunter Morman of Coppell, Texas. One son, Stephen Dale Krone, three brothers, a sister, and her parents preceded Jean in death.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 12, 2009 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel 1900 S. Philo Rd. Urbana, IL. Rev Michael Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery immediately following the service. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
