Norma Jean Gillespie 80 of Urbana died at 3:36 a.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

At Norma's request there will be no public services. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Gillespie was born on December 20, 1932 in Champaign, the daughter of Earl Manning and Margaret Elizabeth Rebman Carter. She married Jack Gillespie on December 3, 1953 in Urbana, He survives.

Also surviving are two sons; Richard Lee Gillespie of Neoga, Steven Michael (Rhonda) Gillespie of Urbana, one daughter; Sherry Lynn Gillespie of Urbana, one sister; Joyce Ann Ward of El Centro, California, seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

Mrs. Gillespie worked for Illinois Bell, Carson, Pirie, Scott, Commercial Savings & Loan, Illinois Secretary of State and retired from the Urbana School District.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Urbana. She enjoyed traveling, boating and camping.
