Nola May Fitzpatrick, 98 of Urbana died at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Heartland Healthcare Center, Champaign.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2015 the Pennsylvania Ave. Baptist Church, Urbana, Rev. Rich Gregory will officiate. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Nola May Fitzpatrick was born September 22, 1916 in Emberton, Kentucky, the daughter of Sampson and Mary Ford. She married Elsworth Fitzpatrick on September 19, 1945.

Survivors include her son, Dan (Mikki) Fitzpatrick of Urbana, daughter, Claudette (Kevin) Tarr of Traverse City, MI, two grandsons, six great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers and four sisters.

Nola worked at Burnham City Hospital for almost twenty years, and then spent the next several years doing daycare out of her home. Many of the children she cared for were treated to one of her hand made Sock Monkeys, a favorite hobby of Nola's.

Nola was an avid gardener and baker. She was particularly known for her vegetable relish and gingersnaps that she loved sharing with family and friends. She also enjoyed being outside, her favorite activities were fishing and camping.

She and her husband spent time enjoying the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Bears, and the Illini Basketball team.

Nola was a member of the Pennsylvania Ave. Baptist Church, and liked to participate in their Forever Young group with her husband Elsworth.
