Obituary

Nita Jean Rosenberger, 94, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at Meadow Brook Health Care at Clark Lindsey Village on Sunday, July 23, 2017.

She was born on April 27, 1923 to Stacey and Ruby Bartlow in Champaign, IL. She had 2 sisters, Margie Judy and Joy DeRonde and 2 brothers, Lyle Bartlow and Richard Bartlow. All preceded her in death as well as in-laws Dale Judy, Dick DeRonde, Vicki Bartlow and Jack Rosenberger. Three sisters-in-law survive: Darlene (Peck) Bartlow, Billie (Rosenberger) Little, Sally (Stevens) Rosenberger.

She graduated from St. Joseph High School and attended Illinois Business College. She married Russell Rosenberger on March 21, 1948. They had a son, Russell Dean Rosenberger, Urbana. Russ (Janet) survives along with her grandsons, Adam (Pamela) Rosenberger, Washington, IL and Matt (Christina) Rosenberger, Washington D.C. She has 3 great-grandchildren Emily, Audrey and Ryan Rosenberger. Nothing gave Nita more joy than being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Nita was an office manager at several businesses with fond memories of working in the offices of Dr. W.F. Lamkin, Champaign County Treasurer's Office, and Creative Builders Inc. In 1972, Russ and Nita began Panel Tech Construction and she managed the office for almost 30 years. Russ Sr. died on October 13, 1986. Nita married Dave Reichard on April 27, 1991 and extended her devotion to Dave and his children, Scott (Judy) and Jon (Patti) and their children and grandchildren. Dave died on March 8, 2001. "Aunt Nita" had wonderful nieces and nephews whom she also enjoyed spending time with throughout her life as well as friends, of all ages, through Webber Street Church of Christ, Champaign-Urbana Christian Church and in recent years Twin City Bible Church.

She lived her life with great integrity and gratitude, and had a gift of hospitality. Nita always tried to see the best in everyone and was especially compassionate to children. She will be greatly missed but has left a positive impact on all who knew her.

A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, July 29. A celebration of life service will follow at 1:00 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel 1900 Philo Road, Urbana, IL. Hank Sanford will officiate. Entombment in Mount Hope Mausoleum, Champaign, will be private. Any memorial donations may be made to Cookson Hills Christian Ministries which provides a home, school and therapy for kids who are at risk. https://cooksonhills.org/.
