Urbana- Nell Grace Kiener, 89, of Urbana died at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, August 14, 2008 at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.

According to Nell's wishes, there will be no services. Arrangements were handled by Renner-Wikoff Chapel. A private family memorial for Nell and her husband Art will be held in the future in her home state of Kentucky.

She was born Nell Carolyn Grace on July 26, 1919 at Gum Grove, Christian County, Kentucky. The only child of Clint Henry Grace and Carley (Withers) Grace, she married Arthur M. Kiener on June 14, 1946 in Somerset, Kentucky. He preceded her in death on Nov. 19, 1995.

She is survived by her daughter, Bobbye Rutherford of Elkton, Kentucky, and two sons, Jacques (Martha) Kiener of Urbana, and Steve (Janet) Kiener of Cincinnati, Ohio. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Wayne Morton and Andrea Gestrich, Margo Kiener, and Annie and Scott Kiener; and three great grandchildren.

Mrs. Kiener was a full-time homemaker and mother until her children were grown. She then worked for Carson Pirie Scott & Co. for 25 years, retiring to spend time with her grandchildren and care for her husband.

The family would like to express particular thanks to Dr. George P. Savvas and his family for the many years of special care and attention given to Nell, Art, and the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Nell's name to the charity of your choice.
