CHAMPAIGN, IL- Neil Eugene Lasater, 70, of Champaign, IL, passed away at 9:07 PM, Saturday, June 2, 2012 at RML Specialty Hospital in Hinsdale, IL.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, June 11, 2012 at the Danville National Cemetery, Danville, IL with military rites accorded by the Danville American Legion. Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, IL, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Lasater was born February 13, 1942 in Gary, Indiana, a son of Norman and Clara (Sproull) Lasater. He married Marcia Eccles on July 11, 1965 in Champaign, IL. She survives. Also surviving is a son, Brian Lasater of Aurora, IL, two grandsons, Jack and Andy, and two brothers, Gary and Dennis Lasater.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Lasater graduated from Champaign High School in 1959 and served in the United States Navy. He retired from IBM after 25 years as a customer service engineer. In retirement, he received his Associates Degree from Parkland College. Neil enjoyed many hobbies including modeling, railroading, gaming, reading, movies and cooking. He loved his grandchildren very much and he will be deeply missed by family and friends.
