CHAMPAIGN, IL- Naomi Ruth Sands, 72, of Champaign, died at 5:55A.M., Sunday, October 15, 2006 at her residence.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1700 Crescent Drive, Champaign, IL 61821. Rev. Laura Johnston will officiate. A private burial will be held at Roselawn Cemetery, Champaign.

Mrs. Sands was born November 1, 1933 at Makanda, Illinois, the daughter of Jasper V. and Florence E. Hawkins Harris. She married James H. Sands on June 13, 1959 at Carbondale, IL. He survives. Also surviving are 1 Son: Scott L. Sands of Naperville, IL and 2 Grandchildren: Alexis N. Sands and Adam Sands. 2 Brothers: Jack Harris of Anna, IL., and Dick Harris of Oak Island, N.C. 2 Sisters: Edna Pollitt of Columbus, IN and Evelyn Odom of Murphysboro, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 brothers.

Mrs. Sands was a homemaker and member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Champaign.
