Miyoko Blair 88 of Savoy died at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, September 28, 2017 at home.
Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at the McKinley Presbyterian Church, Champaign, Rev. Heidi Weatherford officiating, with a reception immediately following. Burial will be in the Danville National Cemetery, Danville. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Miyoko Usui was born on January 4, 1929 daughter of Sadao and Fuku Usui in Kobe, Japan.
Survived by her sister, Fusako Usui and her children; Frank D. Blair, Janice M. Blair, Katherine (AKA Mabel) K. Cunningham, Nila N. Blair, Patricia A. Blair, her grandchildren; Nicole L. Blair, Josh A. Blair, Dawn K. Blair, Dana K. Spencer, Jennifer E. Hathaway and Amanda B. Smith, four great grandchildren and her nephews; Keichi and Takashi Nakamura.
Preceded in death by her husband, Frank E. Blair,, Jr. sister, Chieko Nakamura, brother, Sadayoshi Usui and her parents.
Miyoko Blair at 4' 7" was one of the biggest Chicago Bulls fans. She was an ambitious woman who immigrated to the United States from Japan. She studied to become a United States citizen while learning English. In Japan, she went to night school and learned sewing, pattern and hat making. She loved orchids and calligraphy. Her interest in music led to ballroom dancing which became a lifetime passion. Through dance, she met many good friends.
