Michael Shane Taylor, 63, of Urbana passed away at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

Services will be held in the Spring.

Michael was born on December 4, 1953 in Gibson City, to parents Earl Taylor Jr. and Anna Cogene (McClain) Taylor. They preceded him in death. Also preceding him death were two sisters.

On November 7, 1980 he married Holly Miller in Gibson City, she survives. Also surviving are his children; Rebecca Pruitt of Thomasboro, Anna Taylor of Champaign and Jeremiah Taylor of Hillsboro. Siblings; Earl Taylor (Jeanie) of Gibson City, Anita Rose Tomblin, Ransom Taylor, Mark Taylor, Trudy Taylor all of Henderson, TN, four grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive him.

Michael was a graduate of Gibson City High School. After graduating he enlisted in the United States Navy. After being honorably discharged in 1976, he built his own construction company. He owned and operated his company for twenty years.
