Michael A. Peterson, 42 of Champaign died at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 1, 2017 at home.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 5, 2017 at Unity Baptist Church, Champaign; Rev. Steve Brady officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Friday at the church. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Michael was born on April 10, 1975 in Champaign, the son of Danny and Linda Staley Peterson of Bondville.

Survivors include his son; Vance Peterson of Champaign, sister; Christi (Chad) Sands of LeRoy, two nieces; Megan and Grace Sands and his former wife; Amy Peterson of Champaign.

Michael was a member of Unity Baptist Church, Champaign.

He loved baseball, cooking, fishing and music.
