Urbana- Melodie Lynn Hawn Ounkham, 47, of Urbana went to live in heaven with Jesus at 12:40 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28,2011. Ms.Ounkham was born on July 11,1964, in Urbana, the daughter of Damon Hawn(Judy) and Marilyn Hawn Welch Wease. Survivor's include her father of Hammond, her mother of Urbana, five children, Justin Ounkham, Jory Ounkham, Jacinda Ounkham, and Chad Champaninh, all of Urbana and Nathan Ounkham of Champaign; one sister, Laural Fugate of Danville; two half-brothers, Ryan Hawn, of Indiana and Michael Hawn of Savoy; and a half-sister,Jennifer Sebens of Hammond. Her grandmother, Helen Gore of Champaign.Ms. Ounkham was proceeded in death by her maternal grandmother Pauline Welch, her maternal grandfather, Roy Welch,and her paternal grandfather John Hawn. Melodie graduated from Urbana High School in 1982 and was a housekeeper at Newman Hall for 11 yr's Melodie loved to draw and paint. She received a scholarship for art in high school. She was very close to her sister Laural of Danville and her cousin Julie of Urbana. Melodie loved to play bingo and watch movies with her family. She was also very close with her children and Mother. Melodie made homemade quilts, and loved to crochet. She loved to cook and shared her recipes with her children and family member's.She will be missed by a lot of people.
