Maxine LaVerne Ruwe, 86, of St. Joseph died at 5:27 A.M. Sun, Jan. 28, 2007 at Provena Covenant Medical Center, U.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wed. Jan. 31, 2007 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, U, The Rev. Mike Roberts will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Sidney. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tues. Jan. 30, 2007 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ruwe was born on October 31, 1920 in Urbana, the daughter of Robert R. and Eva Belle Cox Robbins, she married Harold Ruwe on Feb. 19, 1939 in Urbana, and he died on Aug. 27, 1988.

Survivors include two sons; Donald R. Ruwe of Fairmount and James L. Ruwe of St. Joseph, a daughter; Jo Ann Duitsman of Gifford, four sisters; Mildred Davis and Dorothy Burr both of Savoy, Marjorie Peters of Champaign, and Roberta Bleachner of Lima, OH, nine grandchildren and twenty three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother.

Mrs. Ruwe and her husband farmed in the St. Joseph and Fithian area and she worked for the University of Illinois for 20 years.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ashgrove, MO.
