Mary Belle Yoder, 82, of Champaign died on Monday (March 21) at Champaign Urbana Regional Rehab, Savoy. Graveside services will be held at the Friends Cemetery in Lynnville, Iowa at 11:00 on Friday (March 25) morning, with a visitation at Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma, Iowa from 9 to 10:30. Renner-Wikoff Chapel, Urbana is in charge of local arrangements.
Mary was born on May 27, 1928, in Independence, Kansas, the daughter of Leroy F. and Lura Lee Pike Krienhagen. She married Arthur K. (Bill) Bergman, who died in 1952. She later married Merle A. (Cy) Yoder, who died in 1982. She is survived by three children - Kristin Wise of Champaign, Illinois, Tracy Yoder (Theresa) of Malcom, Iowa, and Joe Yoder (Mary Beth) of Bethel, Alaska ; a son-in-law, John Davis of New Sharon, Iowa; four grandchildren - Julie and Jason Wise and Nick and Lorelei Davis; a sister, Doris Heckbert; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cindy Davis. Mary grew up in Kansas, and lived in Iowa for most of her life, working as a legal and medical secretary, then retiring to Florida for ten years. She will be remembered for her quiet dignity and integrity and for her ability to laugh at life.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
