Mary Ann Ridgeway Williams, 70, of Urbana, passed away at 11:40 a.m., Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Presence Covenant Medical Center. A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 701 E. Florida Ave., Urbana. Reverends Shawn Boylan and Don Ehlers will officiate. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Mary was born January 14, 1947 in Decatur, Illinois to parents James Ridgeway and Louise (Gelonek) Baker. She married Mark Williams June 4, 1971. Today marks what would have been their 46 year anniversary. Mark survives, along with Mary's son, Paul Williams (Debbie), of Homer, Illinois, and her mother, Louise. One sister, Sarah Coate (Glenn), of Taylorville, Illinois, grandchildren Hayden and Emerson Williams, and several nieces and nephews also survive. Mary was preceded in death by her father, and brother, Mike Ridgeway.

After graduating from Lakeview High School in Decatur, Mrs. Williams began her career at the University of Illinois Credit Union. By the time she retired in 2006, she had worked there more than 35 years and earned the position of Senior Vice President of Loans and Visa. She also served as team captain for the Trinity Lutheran Church American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.

Mary was a member of the Corvette Club of Illinois and Creative Memories Scrapbooking Club. She also enjoyed her volunteer work through Meals on Wheels and playing Bunco. Mary was fond of her "black rose" (not purple!) corvette and her Siamese cats.
