Mary Jane Weber, 82, of Urbana, passed away at 10:48 p.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. A memorial service will be held in her honor at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 22, 2011 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 2200 Philo Rd., Urbana. Pastor Bob Rasmus will officiate. A reception will be held prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at Eastlawn Cemetery in Urbana following the service.

Mrs. Weber was born in Thawville, Illinois on February 16, 1929 to parents Luetna and Ernest Hathorne. She married Jacob Arthur Weber on November 7, 1954 in Champaign, Illinois. He preceded her in death in October, 1976. Survivors include children: Barbara Kelley (Brian), of Tolono, John Weber, of California, grandchildren: Jacob Kelley, Kayla Kelley, Johnathon Jasper, John Weber, Shakena Weber, Daniel Weber, Tracy Weber, Kevin Weber, Anthony Weber, Johnathon Weber I, Jasmine Weber, Johnathon Weber II, and three great-grandchildren. Mary Jane was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Earl Hathorne.

Mrs. Weber graduated from Loda High School and the Northwest Institute of Medical Technology. She worked as a Medical Technologist before marriage then as a stay at home mother after marriage. Mary Jane was an active member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the Chapter MX PEO and AARP. She also enjoyed volunteering; both at her church as an RSVP caller and at Urbana Middle School for more than ten years.
