Mary Margaret Thomas, 89, of Champaign passed away at Carle Foundation Hospital on Friday, June 7, 2013 at 6:50 a.m.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 11,2013 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Renner- Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana followed by a Graveside Service at East Lawn Cemetery, Urbana.

Margaret was born September 28,1923 to parents Charles and Lucy Hamel Thomas in Urbana, Illinois. They preceded her in death. She was a 1941 graduate of Urbana High School. Margaret worked for the News Gazette in the Composing Room for 45 years before retiring.

Margaret is survived by nieces and nephews, David Grindley, Joe Grindley, Gary Grindley, Marty Thomas, Susan Guinn, Sharon Thomas and Judy Thomas. She was preceded in death by two sisters, four brothers, one nephew and one niece.

Margaret was a member of the International Typographical Union, she loved the outdoors, gardening, Boston Terriors and was a die hard Cubs fan.
