Mary F. Slade, 91, of Urbana, died at 3:50 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2009, at Clark Lindsey Village.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 27, at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 South Philo Road, Urbana. Reverend Robert Phillips will officiate. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Urbana. There will be no visitation.

Mary F. Slade was born December 14, 1917 in Ogden, Illinois. She was a graduate of Ogden High School and was a graduate of Barry Castle Business College.

She assisted her husband in several business ventures, including ownership of a restaurant for 15 years in downtown Champaign. Mrs. Slade later was a real estate broker in this area for another 15 years.

Upon retirement, Mrs. Slade resided in Sun City, Arizona for several years. At the time of her death she was a resident of Clark Lindsey in Urbana. She had for many years been a member of the First Christian Church of Champaign.

Her husband, Lore Slade, preceded her in death in 1973. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. One remaining brother resides in Texas. She has several nephews and nieces.
