Mary Sanders, 81, of Champaign, passed away at 2:13 p.m., Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Provena-Covenant Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 8, 2011 at the Sangamon Valley Christian Center, 200 W. Washington St., Mahomet. Rev. Brent Roberson will officiate. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign.

Ms. Sanders was born June 1, 1930 to parents Ulysses and Mentie Brooks, in Kentucky. Her survivors include a daughter; Debbie Marshall, of Champaign, sister; Ann Hood, of Gifford, brothers; James Brooks, of Thomasboro, and Ed Brooks, of Kentucky, and two granddaughters, Kristin and Karissa Marshall. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister, two half brothers, and two half sisters.

Ms. Sanders was self-employed and worked in the real estate and rental industry for more than 50 years. She attended Sangamon Valley Christian Center.
