Mary Ellen Ogle, 94, of Champaign passed away at 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Helia Healthcare in Champaign.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on October 31,2016 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel in Urbana. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m., at the funeral home. Pastor Tim Duke will officiate. Burial will take place at Eastlawn Burial Park in Urbana.

Mary Ellen was born on January 24, 1922 in Champaign, the only child of parents Gus A. and Ella Marie (Cohea) Lee. They preceded her in death. On April 18, 1941 she married Robert A. Ogle in Bowling Green, MO. He passed away on September 6, 2009. Also preceding her in death was her daughter Mary Kathleen "Kathy" Ogle.

She is survived by her son Robert Lee Ogle (Linda) of Champaign, granddaughters, Nancy Gould (Jay) of Champaign, Carolyn Ogle of Tampa, FL and three great grandchildren, Kayla Gould, Courtney Gould and Caden Gould.

Mary Ellen was a 1940 graduate of Urbana High School and attended Paris Illinois School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse for nine years at Cole Hospital. She also worked at Bank of Illinois for eight years. She was a homemaker and a published poet. In 1990 Bob and Mary Ellen moved to Marshall, IL and she became a member of First Congregational Church in Marshall.

She loved music, reading, baking and knitting. She enjoyed sending and receiving cards and letters to friends and family but mostly she adored spending time with the ones that she loved.
