Mary A. Iles, 88, of Champaign, died 7:10 p.m., January 21, 2009 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 26, 2009 with Eastern Star, Hope Chapter 104, services starting at 11:00at Renner-Wikoff Chapel & Crematory 1900 S. Philo Rd. Urbana. Deacon Christine Hopkins will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Urbana. Visitation will be held form 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 25, 2009 at the funeral home.

Mary A. Iles was born March 14, 1920 in Rossville, IL a daughter of James C. and Maple J. Kilbury Martin. She married Woodson A. Iles April 1939 in Henderson, KY. He preceded her in death on December 17, 1984.

Survivors include four children Ruth E. Iles Dearth, James W. Iles, Woodson A. Iles Jr., Marilyn J. Iles Decker; a sister Shirley E. Sells; thirteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a son, William E. Iles and an infant daughter.

Mary Iles graduated from Rossville High School in 1938. While in High School she received the DAR award. She retired from the U of I in the Women's Physical Education Department form 1955 to 1982. Mrs. Iles was a life time member of the Emmanuel Memorial Episcopal Church in Champaign. She was a member of the Olive Rebekkah Lodge, True Kindred, Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, and U.C.T. Auxiliary.
