Mary Lois Hudson, 96 of Urbana died at 1:10 p.m. Thursday, October 4, 2012 peacefully at home with family at her side. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 8, 2012 at Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana. There will be no public visitation. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hudson was born on February 10, 1916 in Bloomington, the daughter of Dr. Daniel and Ethel Martin Cole. She married Fred W. Hudson on January 2, 1938 in Urbana, he died in 1994.

Survivors include three daughters; Judy (Jack) Reese of Rockaway Beach, Missouri, Patricia (Ken) Watson of Urbana, Mary Ellen (Paul) Anderson of Homer, one son; James (Sherry) Hudson of Farmer City, seven grandchildren and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son; Robert and one great grandchild.

Mrs. Hudson was a 63 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the 8 and 40, she volunteered over 2500 hours at the Danville Veterans Medical Center.

She was an avid reader and swimmer, who enjoyed spending time at their cabin on Mattoon Lake during the summer and at their winter home in Florida.

The family would especially like to thank her caregivers Jan Bohlen and Lucinda Collins for their care and wonderful support.
