Mary Ellen Huddle, 96, of Champaign was called home by her Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 11:10 a.m. at the C-U Nursing and Rehab Center in Savoy, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at the Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana; Pastor Daniel Franklin and Assistant Pastor Philip Owen will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Huddle was born July 6, 1917, in Urbana, IL, the daughter of Clarence and Ona (Good) Wingler. She married William Huddle on June 4, 1939 in Champaign IL. He preceded her in death on August 17, 1986, as did their three daughters, Ruth Ann Turner, Ona Burnell, and Mary Jo Huddle. Her parents and ten brothers and sisters preceded her in death as well.

Surviving are her brother, Morris (Carol) Winger of Urbana IL, her sister, Joyce Searer of Warsaw, IN, and four grandchildren: Jeff Dorsey of Romeoville, IL, Pam Brown of Nebraska, Tammy (Jay) Cupp of Indianapolis, IN, and Tim Burnell of Carmel, IN. Also surviving are 5 great-grandchildren.

She retired from Robeson's Department Store in Champaign when that business closed its doors in 1990.
