Mary Ellen Hensley, 85, of Urbana, passed away at 4:10 p.m., Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at her home, surrounded by her family. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday September 14, 2012 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana. Mary's grandson, Benjamin Lee, and brother-in-law, William Hensley will officiate. A visitation will be held prior to the service on Friday from 11:00-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Urbana.

Mrs. Hensley was born May 12, 1927 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to parents Andrew and Gladys (O'Neal) Hursey. She married Ralph Hensley, Sr. September 25, 1948 in Urbana, Illinois; he survives.

Also surviving are children; Marilyn Myles, of Oak Park, Ralph Thomas Hensley, Jr., of Urbana, Rachel Hensley, of Bloomington, Sharon Lee, of Urbana, David Hensley, of Urbana, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and one brother.

Mrs. Hensley was a member of the Church of Christ, located at 201 W. Green St., Urbana. She enjoyed serving the Lord and others. She was a kind, loving woman who enjoyed gospel music, reading, knitting, crocheting, needle work, and cooking.
