Mary Agnes (Werts) Halberstadt was born on December 8, 1925 on her family farm in rural Urbana, Illinois. She passed away May 20, 2017 at her home in Urbana surrounded by her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents Tom and Agnes Werts. Her brothers Kenny and Tommy Werts, sister Betty Pearson. She is survived by her husband Tiny Halberstadt of Urbana; Daughter Diana (Sonny) Reynolds of Urbana; Son Richard (Julia) Halberstadt of Mahomet; Daughter Pamela (Jeffrey) Cross of Urbana; Grandchildren Dick Reynolds of Urbana, Renee (Greg) Strubhar of Urbana, Jenna (Bryan) Witry of London England, Sierra Cross of Urbana, Hannah (Richard) Mooney of Urbana, and Summer (Shawn) Gillespie of St. Joe; Great grand children Jennifer (Josh) Collins and Brittany Strubhar.

Mary's first love was her family. She was happiest when everyone was at her home for a meal. She loved fishing with her husband. Some of her favorite fishing trips were to Canada with her husband. She was an avid White Sox fan and played baseball for the farm bureau when she was a young woman. Mary and Tiny had just celebrated 70 years of marriage this April. Mary will be remembered fondly by her family as a kind hearted loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and she will be greatly missed.

Services for the family will be held at Renner-Wikoff and will be followed by grave side services at Grandview.
