Mary Isabelle Dart, 78, of Urbana passed away at 10:45 a.m. Thursday (May 28, 2009) at the Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at The New Horizon United Methodist Church, 3002 W. Bloomington Rd, Champaign. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m.on Monday, June 1, 2009 at The New Horizon United Methodist Church. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Dart was born October 16, 1930 in Champaign, a daughter of Charlotte and John Ruyle. She married Joe Dart on December 8, 1946 in Urbana. He survives.

Also surviving are 5 daughters, Mary Jane (Paul-deceased) Jenkins, Wanda Raymond, Shirley(James) Liggett, all of Urbana, Peggy Zachary (Rob) of Homer, and Penny Plummer (John) of Tolono; a brother, James Ruyle (Joyce) of Champaign; her Aunt Helen Gore of Champaign; 18 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by 1 granddaughter (Shauna Liggett), 1 grandson (Anthony Lee Wheatley), her father John Ruyle, her mother Charlotte Ruyle Seiler and step-father Walter Seiler.

Mrs. Dart worked at the Champaign County Nursing Home and at the Urbana High School as a cafeteria baker. She had been an Avon Representative for 43 years, a Greater Champaign AMBUCS member, Champaign VFW Post 5520 and a member of The New Horizon United Methodist Church. She enjoyed her large family and all the family gathering, especially the Dart Christmas.
