Mary June Black, 93, of Urbana died Monday (Sept 12, 2011) in Savoy. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church, 2004 Philo Rd., Urbana. Pastor Mike Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery, Urbana. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Renner-Wikoff Chapel 1900 Philo Rd Urbana. Mrs. Black was born June 7, 1918, in Chatham, IL, daughter of John Rawley and Ora Fulk Rawley. She Married Glen Black Jan. 17 1936, in Urbana. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2003 and her son Glen Black Jr. in 1981. Surviving are her daughter Mary Fae Drake (Rod) of Spring Hill FL.; grandson Glen Black III (Lynn) of Urbana; granddaughters Michelle Carley (Don) of North Canton OH, Cynthia Drake of Spring Hill FL, Leslea Drake of Phoenix AZ; great grandsons Matthew Carley, Scott Drake and great granddaughters Christine Corley (Aaron), Aimee Black, Stacy Black, Sarah Carley. She was a member of Grace Untied Methodist Church for over 60 years where she taught Sunday school many years, served as superintendant of vacation bible school, was on the church board and was active in the United Methodist Women. She was a graduate of Urbana High School and worked as a book keeper before working as a care provider for children and the elderly. She was involved in the community as a board member at Cunningham Childrens Home, at Clark Lindsey Village and at the P&E railroad workers credit union. She was active in the Webber school PTA. Memorials may be made to Cunningham Childrens Home, Urbana.
