Martha Hatchett, age 93, of Urbana died 4:02 p.m. Thur. May 24 at her home in Urbana. A Memorial Service will be at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana at 5:00 PM Thur. May 31, Rev. Steven Jones officiating. A reception of friends and family will be one hour prior to service time. Mrs. Hatchett was born Oct. 22, 1913 in Richmond, Ind. the daughter of Clifford and Edna Smith Haworth. She married Albert Herchell Hatchett of Rockford, Ala. on Aug. 29, 1942 in Orlando, Fla. He preceded her in death on July 25, 1986. She is survived by a sister, Catherine Bicknell of Richmond, Ind.; three nieces, great nieces and nephews, surrogate grandsons and host of friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, and two sisters. Mrs. Hatchett was a graduate of Richmond, Ind. High School and Earlham College. She was a seed specialist for the Illinois Crop Improvement Assoc. for 27 years, retiring on Oct. 1, 1978. She was a member of Delta Theta Tau, enjoyed reading and was known for her cooking.
