URBANA, IL- Martha R. Hanson, 93, of Urbana passed away at 11:08 P.M., on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign, IL. Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M to 10:30 A.M. Tuesday morning at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, IL.

Mrs. Hanson was born September 27, 1919 in Tuscola, IL, a daughter of Lynn Arlington Roderick and Vena Pauline (Shelton) Roderick. She married W. Erwin Hanson on March 3, 1979. He preceded her in death on August 26, 2007. Survivors include a son, George E. (Nancy Prosser) Lansky of Tuscola, IL, a granddaughter, Lori L Lansky of Tuscola, IL, a great granddaughter, Brittany E. Foy of Tuscola, a great grandson, Andrew N. Foy of Tuscola, three step-daughters, three step grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother and two sisters.

Martha graduated from Tuscola High School and the Barry Castle School of Business in Champaign. She was a retired clerk at the University of Illinois. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Urbana, and attended the Tuscola United Methodist Church. She was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 630 and Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority, and she was a member of the Moose Lodge Auxiliary, Gamma Lamda, the Urbana Womens Club and the Urbana Senior Citizens. She enjoyed traveling, volunteering and reading.
