Funeral services will be held for Martha Ann Duszynski of Urbana, IL on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 11am at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church in Thomasboro, Illinois. A visitation will be held on Monday, May 20th from 3-6pm at the Renner Wikoff Chapel in Urbana, Illinois. Eastern Star services will begin at 5:30pm.
Martha was born May 11, 1955 in Caledonia, MN to Harold and Lois (Oesterreicher) Poeschl. She passed into glory on May 15, 2019 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO after a brief illness.
Martha was a devout Catholic and was baptized at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Caledonia. She was confirmed at Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in St. Paul, MN.
Martha married Richard (Dick) Bruce in 1976. After his death, Martha married Mitch Duszynski on Jan. 5, 2003 on a cruise to the Caribbean.
Martha graduated from Urbana High School in 1973 and Parkland College Veterinary Technology Program in 1994. Martha loved animals and worked as a Veterinary Technologist. Later she worked at Jewel Foods and finished her career at Hobbico until her retirement.
She loved camping with family, reading, doing crafts, crocheting and holding babies. Mitch and Martha had fun being Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus at Christmas events. Martha was a member and Past Matron of Hope Chapter #104, Order of the Eastern Star.
Martha was a loving wife, sister and auntie. She was a delight to all who knew her. She had a ready smile, a great wit, and was loved by everyone who met her.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, Dick Bruce.
She is survived by her loving husband, Mitch, brothers Steven (Janet) Poeschl of MN and Thomas Poeschl of Oregon.
She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great- nieces and nephews and her faithful dog, Izzy and cat, Muffin.
Memorials may be made to the Champaign County Humane Society.
