Obituary

URBANA - Marjorie H. Rogers, 95, of Champaign died peacefully at 3:22 A.M., Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Amber Glen Special Care Center.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Woodlawn Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, is in charge of arrangements.

Marjorie was born to Roy ("Jack") and Deana Faye (Fowler) Innes on February 10, 1917 in Champaign, IL. She was a proud "farm girl" and, as a child, rode her pony to school. She was equally proud to be a University of Illinois alumna, graduating in 1938 with a B.S degree in Home Economics. Marjorie met George Rogers at a USO dance, fell in love, and married him on June 24, 1945. They spent many happy years together and enjoyed traveling all over the world; they are now together once again. Marjorie was a wonderful teacher, wife, and mother and actively served her community through numerous organizations over the years.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Rogers, and her son, Barry Rogers (and wife, Joan); three grandchildren, Christopher (and wife, Lauren), Laura (and partner, Chris), and Kate (and husband, Shane); and three great-grandchildren, Cameron, Avery, and Callie Jo.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research Foundation or the Harbor Light Hospice.
