Marjorie E. Witt was born May 23, 1928, in Sidney, Illinois. Daughter of John and Mattie Witt. She married Donald Pittman July 13th, 1946, in Urbana Illinois. He proceeded her in death Dec 7, 1990. Surviving is daughter Donna McLaughlin of St Joseph, Il. Three sons, Steve Pittman of Champaign, Il, Lee Pittman of Beason, Il, and Tim Pittman of St Joseph, Il. She leaves ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great- grandchildren. Proceeding her was one daughter, Sue Taylor of Forrest, Il, one granddaughter Autumn Taylor of Forrest, Il. Two sisters Marie Pitcher and Frances Tarman, two brothers Bill Witt and Frank Witt (sister Eldora Witt). Marjorie married Carl Brockman Jan 15, 1994, he passed Dec 22, 1995. Marjorie worked at the stock car and demo derby races; Don announced many places. Marjorie did Race reporting articles for National Speed Sport News and Mid-American Auto Racing News. She worked in senior home care for Carle Hospital for 4 years, retiring in 1989. She was a member of the Senior Citizen's Group of Sidney, Il. Marjorie was also, a member of the VFW post 360 in Urbana, Il. Her hobbies were car races, Nascar and flowers. She was an avid pen-pal for more than Thirty years, including writing to soldiers during World War II. If asked one of Marjorie's greatest accomplishments was raising five kids and getting to be a grandmother to many-many more.
Graveside Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Mayview, Illinois.
