Marjorie Peters, 96, of Urbana, passed away at 7:20 P.M. on Friday, December 12, 2014 at Heartland Nursing Home, Champaign.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2014 from 10:00 A.M.- 12:00 P.M. at Renner-Wikoff Chapel & Crematory in Urbana. A private graveside service will be held on a later date.

Marjorie was born on January 31, 1918 in Seymour, Illinois to parents Robert and Eva (Cox) Robbins. They preceded her in death. On November 20, 1941 she married Arthur W. Peters at Philo Methodist Church. Arthur passed away on April 16, 1985. Also preceding Marjorie in death was her brother, Lyle Robbins, two sisters, Mildred Davis and Maxine Ruwe.

Marjorie is survived by her two sons, Kenneth (Janet) Peters of Urbana and Gary (Janice) Peters of Champaign, four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one sister, Dorothy Burr, a half sister, Roberta Bliechner and her latest dance partner, John Goodell.

She went to Silver Grade School, Urbana High School and Illini Beauty School. She was a beautician for twenty-two years and was a bank employee at Sidney Community Bank and Champaign County Bank & Trust for seventeen years. She was a member of Countryside United Methodist Church.

Marjorie's passion was dancing. In her early years, she taught and danced with the local "Arthur Murray Dance Studio" in Champaign. She also danced at the Moose Lodge, the Regent, Swinging Dancer's Club and the University Club on a weekly basis.

She was active throughout her life. She traveled extensively in the U.S., seeing 31 states and Canada in the past 7 years. She, also, started playing golf at age 69.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Marjorie's memory to an organization of the donor's choice.
