Obituary

Marjorie Jean Fisher, 89, of Urbana passed away at 3:05 p.m., Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Presence Covenant Medical Center. A visitation will be held Friday, August 30, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana. A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at noon, at the funeral home, with Rev. J. Michael Smith officiating. Burial will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana.

Mrs. Fisher was born September 4, 1923 in Champaign to parents Darrell and Marie (Pease) Everett. She married W. Lynn Fisher October 31, 1942 in Boling Green, Missouri. He preceded her in death on May 3, 1993.

Survivors include daughter, Kay Buckner, of Urbana, Dave Fisher (Lori LaMarche), of Champaign, grandchildren, Doug Barr (Brenda), Jerry Barr, Alicia Jones, Michelle Sloan, six great-grandsons, and one great-great-granddaughter. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, sister, one son, and one grandson.

Mrs. Fisher graduated from Mahomet High School in 1940. She worked at Springfield Electric Co. in Champaign, the Champaign County Probation Office, then, at the age of 70, at Great Planes Hobbies. Marjorie and her husband enjoyed camping and travelling together. After her husband's passing, she became an avid bingo enthusiast, testing her luck in Paxton, Gibson City, and other area towns. Marjorie also enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
