Obituary

Marilyn J. Gladson, 87 of Urbana, died at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Heartland Healthcare Center in Champaign. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, September 28 in the Stearns Cemetery near Fithian, Rev. Michael Smith will officiate.

Mrs. Gladson was born February 4, 1927 at Gary, Indiana, the daughter of William and Ercel (Mapes) Trimmell. She married William Gladson on November 24, 1949 at Muncie, IL. She is survived by her husband, Bill of Urbana, son; Steve Gladson (Patsy) of Carmel, IN, daughter; Janet Cormier (Ray) of LeRoy, grandchildren; Crystal Palmer (T. P.) of Spokane, WA, Elizabeth Gladson (fiance' Stephen McCrea) of Scherville, IN, Emily Gladson of Muncie, IN, Michelle Duncan (Mike) of Waterloo, IL, Matthew Cormier (Elizabeth) of Gilbert, AZ and Laura Cormier of New River, AZ, great grandchildren; Nora and Brendan Duncan, Rylen, Brody, Addison, Brycen and Jace Palmer.

Mrs. Gladson graduated from Oakwood High School and attended Beautician and Cosmetology School in Champaign. She was a 60 year member of Grace United Methodist Church, Urbana where she taught Sunday School, helped with church meals and functions, was a member of United Methodist Women and the Double Ringers Group. She enjoyed camping, baking, traveling, country music, square dancing with Boots & Bows and was a fan of "Penney for Your Thoughts" to which she very rarely missed listening to.
