Margery J. Keller, 79, of Urbana, died peacefully at 2:05 a.m., Friday, September 17, 2010 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel & Crematory 1900 S. Philo Rd. Urbana. Dr. White will officiate. Inurnment will follow in Mt. Hope Mausoleum. There will be no visitation.
Margery Keller was born July 6, 1931 in Winona, MN a daughter of Herbert and Irene Gettleman Borger. She married Roy Keller June 30, 1953 in Winona, MN. He survives.
Survivors include four daughters, Susan Keller of Eugene, OR, Juli Norton of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Mary Handley of Mokena, IL, and Patricia Pearlman of Largo, FL; a son, Roy David Keller of Springfield, MO; two sisters, Helen Kohlmeyer of Bloomington, IL, and Mary Jane Borger of Clearwater, FL; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, and a son.
Margery Keller received her R.N. Diploma in Nursing from Hamline University St. Paul, MN, and BS, MS, and Advanced Certificate in Education from the U of I. She worked as an RN at hospitals in Washington, Idaho, and Minnesota, Public Health in Minnesota and the University of Illinois Health Center for twenty years. Mrs. Keller worked as a teacher for Urbana High School and Parkland College teaching curriculum, health and medical careers, and nurses aids for twenty years. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and enjoyed music, traveling, books, and art.
