Margery "Margie" Irene Brand, 92, of Philo passed away at 1:39 a.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Champaign Urbana Nursing and Rehab in Savoy with her family by her side.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 2, 2017 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel in Urbana. Rev. Cindy Shepherd will officiate. Burial will take place at Locust Grove Cemetery, Philo following the funeral. A visitation will be held prior to the funeral from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Margie was born on October 23, 1924 in Villa Grove to parents James R. and Rachel F. (Hite) Sims. They preceded her in death. On March 24, 1946 she married William Howard Brand Sr. in Villa Grove, he passed away on June 12, 1989. Also preceding her in death were two sons; Kenneth and Gary, eight siblings and her dog, Peanuts.

She is survived by her children; William H. Brand Jr. (Julie) of Lebanon, TN and Richard L. Brand (Kris) of Philo. Three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild also survive her.

Margie was a graduate of Villa Grove High School and a member of Philo Presbyterian Church. She was a homemaker and worked as a housekeeper for Mercy Hospital for fifteen years. Margie enjoyed going out with her friends, Nora and Barb. She also enjoyed camping, fishing, word searches and yard work. Mostly she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
