Margaret I. Short, 85 of Urbana died at 1:25 a.m. Friday, September 07, 2007 at Manorcare Health services, Urbana.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 10, 2007 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana. The Rev. Michael Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Eastlawn Cemetery, Urbana. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Short was born on September 17, 1921 in Iola, Illinois the daughter of Everett and Ruth Dupoister Freeman. She married Delmar Short on June 10, 1939 in Urbana; he died on January 23, 1976.

Survivors include three sons; David (Kay) Short of Champaign, Ronald (Judy) Short and Michael (Sharon) Short both of Urbana, a sister; Mamie Gilliland of Urbana, six grandchildren; Douglas (Jodi) Short, Trent (Jodi) Short, Sherri (David) Mallory, Todd (Shelley) Short, Stephanie (Shawn) Taylor and Andrea Dunn, eight great grandchildren; Preston Mallory, Madison Mallory, Andrew David Short, Hannah Short, Elysabeth Short, Matthew Short, Madison Taylor and Chase Swank.

She was preceded in death by one brother.

Mrs. Short worked in the housing division at the University of Illinois.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Urbana. She enjoyed bingo, gardening and knitting.

Memorial contributions may be made to Barnes Jewish Hospital St. Louis in care of the Liver Transplant Department.
