Margaret "Lassie" L Sandell, 86, of Urbana passed away at 3:15 a.m., Sunday, October 2, 2016 at Bickford Cottage, Champaign. Memorial contributions may be made to Champaign County Humane Society or Carle Hospice. Private family services will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Sandell was born August 31, 1930 in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Greeley and Margaret E. Levings Ladd. She married Robert B. Sandell on November 7, 1952 in Minneapolis. He preceded her in death on March 29, 2004.

She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Sandell of Urbana, a son, Thomas Sandell of Bellevue, WA, a brother, John G. Ladd of Minneapolis, a nephew, John Curran (Kay Harnish-Ladd) Ladd of San Francisco, CA and a Great Niece, Jess Ladd of San Francisco, CA.

She was preceded in death by a Great Niece, Anne Murray Ladd.

Mrs. Sandell was active in the Carle Auxiliary and held many offices including president. She enjoyed gardening, arts and crafts and cross word puzzles.
