Margaret "Grace"
Miller
Feb 8, 1929 — Feb 16, 2016
Margaret "Grace" Miller, 87, of Urbana, was called into eternity with her Savior at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at the Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana.
Grace was born on February 8, 1929 in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Lowell Glen Emrick and Elizabeth Myfanwy Owens. She attended Washburn University in Topeka, earning a degree in Home Economics in 1950, and then married Harold James "Jim" Miller on June 7, 1950 in Topeka, Kansas. She earned her M.S. in Human Resources and Family Studies from the University of Illinois in 1979. Grace lived a life of caring for others, and made a mark on all who knew her by unconditional love and selfless attention to the needs of those around her. Survivors include her children; Daryl Miller of Seattle, Washington; David Miller of Poulsbo, Washington; Donna Jeanne Schneider of Lynchburg, Virginia; Dianne Biehl of Upland, Indiana; and Denice Parker of Wheaton, Illinois. Grace was a loved, and very proud, grandma to twenty-three grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, who died on March 26, 2014. They were sweethearts from the age of 14, and spent the first half of their lives together in Kansas. They enjoyed a 7-year stint of international travel and life in India, and finally settled in Urbana in 1972. Grace enjoyed the university town and was a member of the Cosmopolitan Club and the Architecture Wives at the University of Illinois. Visitation will be at the Twin City Bible Church, Urbana from 12:30 - 2:30pm and the Memorial service will begin at 2:30pm, Saturday, February 20, 2016. Rev. Shannon Caughey will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to TCBC, designated for future property needs of this church, with whom Grace and Jim worshipped Jesus Christ and found great joy in His people, for over 40 years.
