URBANA, IL- Margaret Felicia Mayfield, 95, of Urbana, died at10:45 A.M. E.S.T., October 1, 2008 at the Manor at Bluewater Bay in Niceville, Florida.
A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 708 W. Main St., Urbana, IL. The Rev. Father Dennis Spohrer will officiate. Burial will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana. Visitation will be held from 5-7P.M., with a Rosary service at 7 P.M., Tuesday evening at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, IL.
Mrs. Mayfield was born June 5, 1913 at Sullivan, Indiana, a daughter of Claude Harry and Nellie Gertrude Riggs Boushey. She married C. Wesley Mayfield on November 30, 1933 at Champaign. He preceded her in death on July 15, 1991. Survivors include 5 Children: Nancy Lee Nelligan of Wedgefield, S.C., Julie Marie Mayfield of Defuniak Springs, Fla., Vincent P. Mayfield of Niceville, Fla., Teresa Sue Nitzel of Eagle River, WI and Dennis Wesley Mayfield of Bloomington, IN; 20 grandchildren and 56 great grandchildren; 1 brothers: Claude Vincent Boushey of Terre Haute, IN and 1 sister, Francis Jean O'Donohue of Danville, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Carol Ann Liming, 4 sisters, a brother, 1 grandchild and 4 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Mayfield graduated high school at Saint Joseph Academy, Terre Haute, Indiana in 1931. She assisted in operation of the Mayfield Family Grocery Store at "Five Points" in Urbana and later worked for Urbana School District #116 in the Lunch Program as Assistant Manager and Cook at Urbana Jr. High School from 1958 to 1982. She also worked for the Supervisor of Election in Champaign County as a poll worker for many years and participated in many community organizations. She enjoyed sewing and was a life member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Urbana, attending daily mass until taken to Florida by her son to recover from a broken pelvis.
Memorials may be made to Saint Vincent De Paul Society at St. Patrick's Church, Urbana or the Salvation Army, Champaign.
