Margaret "Peggy" Henderson, 88, of Urbana died Monday morning, December 28, 2009, at home.

Peggy was born in Concord, MA, the daughter of Robert F. Foster and Rose M. Holzbauer Foster. She graduated from Concord Academy and Radcliffe College. During WW II she was a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy.

She married Donald M. Henderson on June 27, 1948 in Concord, MA. They moved to Urbana, where he was a professor of geology at the University of Illinois. He died on Oct. 21, 2006.

She was very active in the Urbana community. She later became a Real Estate Agent with Cogdel & Hobbs.

Survivors include: one daughter, Judy Henderson (wife of Terry Prinn) of Urbana; four sons, Donald Munro Henderson Jr. and Robert Henderson both of Marina Del Rey, CA, Peter (Angela) F. Henderson of Urbana and Alexander Henderson of Lander, WY; one brother, Robert F. Foster Jr. of Austin, TX; and five grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Urbana Free Library or Carle Hospice.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the Huegy Lounge at Clark-Lindsey Village in Urbana on Saturday, January 02, 2010, between 1 and 3 p.m.
